Founded by Greg Mackie based in Seattle and British audio/digital engineer Peter Watts from London, M&W Pro Audio combines Peter’s British high end audio design talents and Greg’s ability to design easy to use, rugged, and affordable products. The company made its industry debut at the recent InfoComm tradeshow in Las Vegas, NV, where it demonstrated the new D24 and D32 digital mixers. Strategist, and company founder Greg Mackie along with British audio engineer, programmer, and company co-founder Peter Watts have a unique symmetry of talents that spanning decades and the development of a host of class leading products. Peter brings decades of professional audio engineering experience and a shared vision for the next evolution of digital mixing technology. Peter Watts, who began his audio career at Trident Consoles in London during the golden age of large, high-end recording and live sound consoles, joined Trident when he was quite young, starting in mixer production, but quickly rose through engineering and R&D leadership roles and ultimately became Head of Research & Development at Trident Audio Developments, serving from 1976 through 1995. Together, the M&W Pro Audio team has spent five years developing and refining a new generation of fully digital mixing systems built around advanced DSP architecture, advanced microphone preamps and high resolution touch interfaces, delivering dramatically expanded functionality, faster operation, intuitive workflow, and a platform designed to support continuous feature growth and software evolution throughout the life of the product.

Greg Mackie reflected on his new company and how his experience has impacted his approach to pro audio and its challenges, “I’ve never stopped gathering ideas about how to make live mixing easier. The D24 and D32 are the culmination of decades of sound experience and four solid years of translating my ideas into a more intuitive, easier workflow.  My goal was to create a touch screen mixer “done right”. We believe we have accomplished this, but it took years of design, review, redesign, and final design…The electronic control surfaces found on the D24 and D32 gave us opportunities that are simply not possible with physical faders or designs which employ small display screens. M&W Pro Audio’s fully digital, environment, coupled with our large touch screen interfaces, enables us to continue expanding functionality and adding new features and capabilities over time through software development and updates.”
